Assembly Building
Campbell County Training School Complex (CCTSC), a historic Rosenwald School, is being revitalized to honor its legacy while enhancing its functionality for the community. The Assembly Building and Maypole Lawn will serve as central gathering spaces for events and celebrations. The lawn will feature an ornamental fence along the retaining wall, matching the Assembly Building stairs for a cohesive look and improved safety. A historic plaque will be prominently displayed on the façade, and mounting points between the front doors will allow for event banners. Behind the covered shelter, the Donor and Memorial Plaza will include engraved pavers and benches dedicated to donors and memorialized individuals, alongside a native pollinator garden that enhances the site's ecological beauty. The large lawn will provide a versatile event space for outdoor activities, while the daycare playground located near the Large Classroom Building will feature nature-inspired play equipment designed for children.
